About Kristin
Kristin Ramsey ATR-BC, LPC
I believe therapy begins with safety, authenticity, and collaboration.
My hope is that within this space, you can slow down, reflect, and begin to make sense of your experiences in a way that feels right for you.
My approach weaves together art therapy, mindfulness, and body-based awareness to support a deeper understanding of yourself and the world around you. When words alone can’t capture what we’re feeling, creative or somatic practices can offer other forms of expression to help us stay present and connected to what’s true in the moment.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in both Virginia and Washington, DC, and a Registered and Board Certified Art Therapist (ATR-BC). I work from a trauma-informed, person-centered lens, guided by curiosity and care. My practice is inclusive and affirming of all identities and experiences, and I hold a certificate in therapy for the transgender community. I strive to create a space where people of all backgrounds can feel grounded, respected, and supported in their process.
In addition to my clinical work, I provide clinical supervision toward licensure for LPC residents and art therapy credentialing, supporting emerging clinicians as they develop their own authentic style.
At its core, my work is about connection. Connection to yourself, to others, and to the world around you.
Our Approach
Grounded Awareness. Creative Exploration. Genuine Growth.
Our approach centers on curiosity, presence, and the belief that healing unfolds when we gently pay attention to what’s happening within and around us. Rather than focusing on fixing or correcting, we trust the strengths you already carry and look for what brings clarity and ease.
Whether you’re navigating anxiety, trauma, identity, relationships, or significant life transitions, a few principles that guide our work are:
-
Slowing down enough to notice what’s happening internally
-
Using art making, imagination, and flexibility to approach emotions from new angles.
-
Listening to the cues your body offers about stress, safety, and connection.
-
Shaping the work together rather than following a rigid formula.
With these principles in mind, we use a combination of art therapy, talk therapy, and body-based awareness so the work can adapt to what feels supportive and grounding for you.
Grove Therapy Collective is, above all, an affirming practice where people of all identities and lived experiences are welcome. Kristin also offers specialized support for transgender, nonbinary, and gender-expansive clients.
